This is our updated in 2019 Scoopshot review.
Do you take photos on your smartphone?
Have you ever thought about having your photos published in a major news outlet or for a major brand?
Remember the days when you had to work for years to get a photo published in a major publication? Yeah, those days are long gone.
2019 Scoopshot update! We checked out the Scoopshot Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages, and they don’t seem to have been updated since around 2016.
The website’s still up and running in 2019, and there’s no announcement of them being out of business. That said, their rating on iTunes is a 2.0 out of 5, and I can’t find them on Google Play. Competitors like Foap are still up and active on Google Play.
You can still sign up on the website here as a photographer: https://pro.scoopshot.com/register
Scoopshot Review
Scoopshot is a free cellphone app that lets you instantly upload your photos. You can add a brief description plus the price you want to sell your image for, and not only are you having fun taking great pictures, but you actually have the chance to make some money off of it.
About Scoopshot
Scoopshot is a mobile platform for photo and video crowdsourcing. Back in 2014, when this post was originally written, they claimed to have nearly 500,000 mobile users with 1,500 professionals in 177 countries, and had over 70 leading media companies and brands use Scoopshot to gain instant access to a global pool of Scoopshooters. Some partners included USA Today, News Corp Australia, Apple Daily, WAZ, Fiat, Finnair, Oxfam and many others.
What does this mean for you?
Well, it means that not only do you have a chance to earn some extra money, but you also have the chance to have your picture published for millions to see.
How many times have you taken a great photo while out and about and thought that it should really be published or printed somewhere? I know that I certainly have, and before now, I had no idea that there was actually a platform that would let me do just that.
Everyone has a unique eye and a unique way of looking at the world, and you never know who may want the exact picture that you took on a whim.
In addition to being an easy to use platform for selling (and buying) photos and videos, Scoopshot also runs monthly contests for a little added incentive.
Getting paid is easy too — you just upload your photos and will be notified when/if they sell. Funds can then be paid out through Paypal or through a direct deposit into your bank account.
Ready to get started?
It’s simple.
- Sign up for a Scoopshot for photographers account.
- Start uploading photos.
- Check out the tasks (which are basically jobs that list what specific photos and video themes people are currently looking for) and start taking some new pictures and hopefully you will begin raking in the cash!
You can download the Scoopshot app on iOS for your iPhone. The app isn’t available on Google Play in 2019.
