How to make chocolate almond spread
This is such a simple recipe!
Place almonds in the food processor, and process on medium for 5 to 10 minutes, or until finely ground. You may need to scrape down the sides occasionally.
This is the hardest part of this recipe, as the almonds seem to take forever to grind into a nice paste. Be patient, as they’ll eventually form a lovely, smooth dry paste.
While almonds are processing, melt chocolate chips with coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl for 30 seconds on medium. If not completely melted, stir and microwave for an additional 15 seconds at a time until melted.
Add melted chocolate and coconut oil mixture, cocoa powder, and honey to the ground almonds to the food processor. Process for another 2 or 3 minutes, or until the almond butter forms a smooth paste.
If the paste isn’t smooth, add more coconut oil, 1 teaspoon at a time until it’s the desired consistency.
Store in a jar in the fridge.
Serve with fresh fruit for dipping, or spread on toast.
