I’m a sucker for a breakfast smoothie almost anytime, and a strawberry banana matcha smoothie like this really hits the spot.

I’ve been learning to love matcha green tea powder, because it’s so packed full of anti-oxidants.

This matcha coconut milk smoothie is one of my favorites. With only five ingredients, it’s a snap to make. We have a similar smoothie, without the berries, in our matcha almond milk smoothie with banana that’s vegan, vegetarian, and dairy free as well!

Ingredients for vegan smoothie with bananas and strawberries and matcha

First, you’ll need to grab the ingredients: bananas, strawberries, ice, matcha powder, milk and sugar (to taste).

Just a note: I only used 2 strawberries in this recipe. When I added more, the smoothie color turned from a nice grass-fresh green into something that looked like Kermit the Frog threw up. Less berries are better here.

Once you’ve got your ingredients, just add them to your trusty blender.

I like to add the matcha powder last, in a pile in the middle of the other ingredients. The powder is a bit “sticky” and can get stuck on the blender sides.

Now close the lid and blend until the ice cubes are crushed. 

And there you have it: cool, healthy goodness packed with fruit and anti-oxidants.

Strawberry Matcha Smoothie with Banana and Coconut Milk

Packed with anti-oxidants, this is an easy, healthy, fruity smoothie with the goodness of fresh fruit and matcha green tea powder.

  • 1 tsp matcha green tea powder
  • 1 large banana
  • 2 large strawberries
  • 1 cup coconut milk drink
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Add ingredients to blender, cover and mix.

If you like your smoothie on the sweet side, you can easily add a teaspoon of agave syrup, maple syrup or your favorite sugar substitute.

This strawberry matcha smoothie with banana and coconut milk is sweet, refreshing, and packed with goodness.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder
  • 1 large banana
  • 2 large strawberries
  • 1 cup coconut milk drink
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Add ingredients to blender.
  2. Cover and mix for about 3 minutes.
  3. Enjoy!

Notes

If you like your smoothie on the sweet side, add a teaspoon of agave syrup or your favorite sugar substitute.

I only use 2 strawberries in this recipe. When I add more, the smoothie color turns from a nice grass-fresh green into a pretty ugly yellow green. If looks matter, fewer berries are better here.

I usually drink matcha plain, but I’m loving this version with fruit in it. Yum!
